Norcold N300 & N301 Overview

The Norcold N300 series of fridge is a manual control type of refrigerator. This means that one has to hold a button down and ignite the gas flame.

The first figure on this page shows the N300 control panel, the yellow button is pushed to ignite the LP gas flame. It is on the backside of this button that the Fridge Defend is wired into the system.

N300 Wiring

This is the N300 wiring diagram, where:

• Yellow is the thermocouple interrupter.
• The blue and green wires go to the selector switch (above figure 2).
• Please see the wiring below for fridge defend install.

Norcold N301 Wiring

This is the N301 wiring diagram, where:

• Yellow is the thermocouple interrupter.
• The blue and red wires go to the selector switch (above figure 2).
• Please see the wiring below for fridge defend install.

Norcold N300 & N301 Thermocouple Interrupt Adaptor

This is a close up of the above N300 & N301 interrupt adaptor circled in red.

Referencing the Norcold N300 of N301 Mode Selector Switch image above, the thermocouple interrupt adaptor is wired to the Norcold N300 Mode Selector Switch terminals identified as 'G3' & 'W3' for the N300, or '2a' & '2b' for the N301 in the images above. Use the respective wiring colors, this image uses the N301 color scheme.

This red wire (or green for N300 if color code is correct) will be spliced.. Two female spade connectors will be used to connect the Fridge Defend Relay at terminals 30 and 87, the normally open terminals of the relay as seen in the figure.

The relay should be mounted as close to the control as possible. That is, the wires to the relay need to be as short as possible.
